Description

This is a fine brass statue of Lord Krishna. He is the eighth avatar of Vishnu and is the central character of Mahabharata. He represents the absolute and fine truth. Word Krishna is symbolic of blissfulness. Krishna is the one who attracts everyone by his ecstasy and makes them rapturous. He is the highest, not only in religion and philosophy, but also in all aspects of Indian folklore like, poetry, painting, sculpture and dancing. His charming look is always a pleasure to the eyes. He has various titles namely, Mohan (Enchanter), Govinda (chief Herdsmen), Keev (Prankster), Gopala (Protector of soul).

 

In this statue he is wearing a Peacock feather wreath on his head and a Vaishnava Tilak on his forehead, making him look more enchanting. His head and body are slightly tilted. He is holding his baasuri (flute) on the right side with both hands. His facial expression shows as if he is playing a mesmerizing and sweet tone. His right leg is slightly bent crossing the left leg from front. This posture of Krishna is symbolic of him playing the flute. He is wearing big round kundals and two necklaces where in the shorter one is heavy looking. He is also wearing three layered bracelets in both the hands. These ornaments are very captivating and increasing his beauty. Lord Krishna is carrying a perfect shaped ankle length dhoti adorned with beauteous trinkets. He is standing on a double lotus.

 

His overall look is very natural and it seems that a real tune is coming from the flute which is very sweet and amazing. Krishna’s look can make the viewers go awestruck with his grace and smoothness.
