The Goddess Saraswati is decidedly the most prolific of all Hindu deities. She is the very manifestation of scholarly learning and musical aptitude. Whenever She is cast into an idol such as the exquisite brass ones from the Indian Arts collection, She is not depicted without a classical Indian musical instrument in her hands. In fact, in multiple Indian homes, Her idol is substituted with a set of books and/or a musical instrument or two. Goddess Saraswati's sculptures in brass come in a variety of postures as well as embossed delicately on Oriental ritual implements.
